Heroic Bids Farewell to Coach Xizt After Two-Year Tenure

In a significant development within the esports landscape, Heroic has announced the departure of their head coach, Richard “Xizt” Landström, following the BLAST World Final.

Xizt, who has been an integral part of Heroic’s journey, leaves the organization after a tenure that spanned over two years, beginning his association with the team in October 2021.

Xizt’s exit from Heroic, as stated in his announcement, was a result of a mutual agreement with the organization.

Reflecting on this decision, Xizt noted, “it’s in everyone’s best interest to go our separate ways.” This decision marks the end of a chapter for both Xizt and Heroic, with the Swedish tactician now on the lookout for new opportunities.

Xizt’s journey with Heroic has been marked by significant achievements.

Joining initially on an interim basis after retiring from a decorated 12-year playing career with teams like fnatic, Dignitas, FaZe, and Ninjas in Pyjamas, Xizt soon became a permanent and influential figure in Heroic. Under his guidance, the team clinched titles at the Pinnacle Cup Championship, BLAST Fall Final 2022, and BLAST Spring Final 2023.

Reflecting on his time with Heroic, Xizt expressed pride and joy, acknowledging the team’s evolution from being booed in stadiums to being celebrated. He highlighted the unique, dynamic, and entertaining playstyle of Heroic, attributing much of their success to these factors and his contributions.

The departure of Xizt comes amidst a broader restructuring process within Heroic, following the recent exits of Casper “cadiaN” Møller to Liquid and Martin “stavn” Lund and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard to Astralis.

Currently, Heroic’s roster has been reduced to a few members, with Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen confirmed only until the end of 2023 and Jason “salazar” Salazar and Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss serving as temporary additions for the BLAST World Final.

Heroic’s Current Lineup:

  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Rasmus “sjuush” Beck
  • Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
  • Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss (on loan)
  • Jason “salazar” Salazar (on loan)

As Heroic turns a new page, the esports community watches closely to see how the team will evolve and adapt in the coming competitive season.
