ZywOo Leads Vitality to IEM Rio Title and Wins 14th Career MVP Award

Vitality’s Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of IEM Rio 2023 following his team’s dominant 2-0 victory over Heroic in the grand final.

This marks the 14th career MVP medal for the French player, who averaged an impressive 1.31 rating across 15 maps throughout the tournament.

ZywOo was a standout player in every match he played, posting a rating of 1.30 or higher in eight of them. His most significant contribution came in the lower bracket final against OG, where he scored an incredible 2.31 rating on Inferno, boasting a 1.57 kills per round, 2.29 impact, and 155.8 average damage per round.

Vitality’s Lotan “Spinx” Giladi also showed superb form throughout the event, with a 1.25 event rating, making him a close second to ZywOo for the MVP award. Meanwhile, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen and Emil “Magisk” Reif had their moments as well, both scoring 1.12 ratings.

ZywOo also topped several categories on the statistics leaderboard, including K-D differential (+109), damage difference per round (+21.9), deaths per round (0.54), clutches won (9), and impact rating (1.33). He ranked fourth in kills per round (0.80) and was tied for third in KAST (76.4%) and total headshots (148).

This is the eighth MVP award for ZywOo on LAN and his first since Vitality’s title-winning campaign at ESL Pro League Season 16 in Malta. With this impressive performance, ZywOo has proven once again that he is one of the best CS:GO players in the world.
