XSET Acquires Queens Gaming Collective to Boost Women’s Presence in Esports

North American esports organization XSET has purchased women-led gaming lifestyle firm Queens Gaming Collective, furthering its support for female gamers and inclusivity in the gaming and esports sectors. While the terms of the agreement were not revealed, XSET will offer a variety of assistance to the company, including talent management and brand partnerships.

Established in 2020, Queens Gaming Collective has curated a diverse roster of talent, featuring female content creators, musicians, and professional athletes. Co-founder Justin J. Giangrande will become XSET’s Head of Talent after the acquisition.

XSET highlighted the acquisition as a significant milestone, solidifying its status as one of North America’s fastest-growing organizations. The organization, which has prioritized diversity since its inception in 2020, has made several key hires in 2023, including David Luce as Chief Content Officer and Jacob Arce as Head of Esports.

This marks XSET’s second acquisition, following its April 2022 acqui-hire of talent agency Astoic Management. Queens Gaming Collective previously secured a partnership with digital media company LiveXLive Media to develop original content for its platforms.

The deal comes at a time when several North American organizations are facing financial difficulties. CLG was recently acquired after laying off its entire staff, TSM is reportedly withdrawing from multiple esports titles, and FaZe Clan’s financial woes continue to unfold in public.

XSET Co-founder and CEO, Greg Selkoe, commented on the acquisition: “As XSET is already a globally recognized gaming lifestyle brand, it’s important that we work alongside those who share our vision of ensuring diversity and inclusion in gaming. Queens has been a leading voice on this issue and has worked to level the playing field for women in gaming for the last several years. We’re excited to bring them into XSET to work together to create new opportunities, revenue streams, merchandise, and anything else to help support The Queens.”
