In the cut-throat world of League of Legends, there are few milestones as impressive as getting to 300 kills at the World Championship. It requires talent, regularity, and determination – qualities that only a few players can claim to have. This year, Xiaohu from Weibo Gaming and Caps from G2 Esports became part of this exclusive club after their impressive performances on the last day of the 2024 LoL Worlds Swiss Stage. Xiaohu and Caps are now the 7th and 8th players to reach this achievement in the event’s history.
The Legends of 300 Kills at Worlds
Getting into the top kill leaders at Worlds is no easy feat, as only a few players have crossed the 300-kill mark. As of September 18, before the start of the 2024 tournament, just five players had crossed this legendary threshold:
- Faker: 446 kills (and counting)
- Deft: 405 kills
- Uzi: 350 kills
- Ruler: 335 kills
- Perkz: 316 kills
Caps arrived at the 2024 Worlds with 284 kills, only 15 away from the 300 mark. At the same time, Xiaohu came in with 273 kills, slightly behind but still in the running. Both players overtook the mark during their sets in the Swiss Stage, thus entering the list of the most prolific killers in Worlds.
Rising Through the Ranks
Before the start of Worlds 2024, five other players were also close to 300 kills: Jensen with 299, Showmaker with 277, and Rekkles with 277. However, since Rekkles is not participating this year, only Showmaker, Xiaohu, and Caps had a chance to advance in this tournament.
Showmaker and Caps were eliminated early in the competition, with Dplus KIA and G2 Esports knocked out. Nevertheless, Caps solidified his place as the best European player in Worlds history, breaking Jensen’s record and proving himself a force to be reckoned with on the international stage, all at the age of 24.
Who’s Left to Climb?
With Caps and Showmaker now out of the tournament, Xiaohu is the only active player who can continue building his kill total at Worlds 2024. Weibo Gaming qualified for the Knockout Stage, giving Xiaohu further opportunities to enhance his legacy.
Caps and Showmaker will have to wait for future events to add to their totals, while Xiaohu’s journey continues. As the competition intensifies, it’s exciting to imagine just how far Xiaohu can go.
A Moment of Celebration
Reaching 300 kills at Worlds is a significant achievement, reflecting the hard work and talent of these players. Although Caps is done for this year, he remains Europe’s all-time highest kill leader at Worlds. Meanwhile, Xiaohu continues to represent Weibo Gaming and build his legacy. Congratulations to both on their historic accomplishments in the League of Legends competitive scene!
