Tundra Esports Disbands with RAMZES666: Roster Shifts in the Offing

Tundra Esports was quite good at TI 2024 (TI13), and the team demonstrated tenacity and talent that fans have come to associate with the Western European team. Although they failed to clinch the title and help Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen become the first three-time TI winner, their run was nothing short of incredible.

Nevertheless, Tundra Esports has recently made a major roster shift by releasing Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev and suggesting more changes before the next season.

Tundra Esports’ TI13 Journey

Tundra Esports suffered a blow before TI13 even started when Edgar ‘9Class’ Naltakian failed to get his visa and Martin ‘Saksa’ Sazdov had to come in as a stand-in. Some people had doubts as to how this change in roster would impact the team’s performance on the big stage, but Tundra showed that they are capable of more.

The team did very well in the group stage and qualified for the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs. Tundra then proceeded to knock out Xtreme Gaming and then perform the upset of the tournament against the favorites, Team Falcons. But their journey was cut short in the semifinals by Gaimin Gladiators, which they finished third, a good result for the team.

Roster Shake-Up: RAMZES666’s Departure

As a result of their performance at TI13, most people expected Tundra to keep the same lineup for the following season. However, the organization seems to be interested in making strategic changes. The first of them is the departure of Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev from the team. This decision is not linked to performance; RAMZES666 was borrowed from L1GA, and as the loan agreement has come to an end, he will go back to his former team.

Another change in Tundra’s roster will be the return of Martin “Saksa” Sazdov to the inactive position, which he was a stand-in during TI13. Although Tundra has not officially announced Saksa’s return to the team, his contribution to the TI13 victory means that he can be a part of the team in the future.

What is the Future of Tundra Esports?

To Tundra Esports and their fans, TI13 third place is a great achievement. However, in the Dota 2 competitive environment where teams change their rosters frequently, roster stability can be a weakness because the opponents have more time to study the team’s tendencies.

More roster changes can be expected for Tundra Esports as the next season draws near. Another player whose fate is still unknown is Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko who was also instrumental in Tundra’s TI13 campaign. Pure, another player on loan from BetBoom Team, may go back to his home team, depending on the agreement. His absence would be a big blow especially now that he has been contributing to Tundra’s success in recent past.
