TSM Bids Farewell to North American Dota 2 Scene

TSM, a prominent name in esports, has officially announced its departure from the North American Dota 2 circuit.

This decision marks the end of a significant chapter for both the organization and its Dota 2 roster, which has shown remarkable growth and dedication over the past year.

In a heartfelt Twitter post, TSM acknowledged the team’s accomplishments and expressed confidence in the players’ future successes.

The announcement also teases potential updates about TSM’s future in the Dota 2 scene, hinting at the possibility of acquiring a new roster based in a different region.

TSM’s journey in the Dota 2 arena began in 2022 with the acquisition of Team Undying. Under TSM’s banner, the team achieved commendable success, including runner-up finishes at the ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and the BetBoom Dacha 2023. Their journey peaked with a respectable 9th-12th place at The International 2023, where they were eventually eliminated by nouns.

The team underwent a notable change last month when Matthew “Ari” Walker departed for OG.

Remaining members included Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, Jonathan “Bryle” Santos, Ilyas “kasane” Gainullin, and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon. With Aleksandr “Immersion” Khmelevskoi joining as the new position 4 player, TSM showcased their prowess by securing a spot at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, triumphing over nouns in the North America qualifiers.

Team Undying’s Comeback!

Following TSM’s exit, ESL confirmed via Twitter that the former TSM Dota 2 roster will compete under their original name, “Team Undying”. This announcement ensures continuity for the team and its fans, with no changes to the current roster.
Interestingly, a tweet from David “MoonMeander” Tan, the former head coach for TSM, on November 29th, seemingly foreshadowed this development with a cryptic “RIP NADota” message.

Team Undying is now set to face Invictus Gaming and 9Pandas in the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, beginning on December 11th.

The tournament will see 12 teams competing for a substantial $1,000,000 prize pool and crucial EPT points, signaling an exciting new chapter for Team Undying and the global Dota 2 community.
