In a remarkable turn of events, TheMongolz have clinched their position in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown.
This achievement comes on the heels of their victory in the 5E Arena Asia Cup Fall qualifier.
TheMongolz’s path to success wasn’t without its challenges.
They faced a setback in their quest for IEM Sydney, having been defeated by both 5yclone and Lynn Vision. However, they made a strong comeback in the BLAST qualifier, with their only loss being to 5yclone during the group stage. This initial hiccup was rectified in the playoffs.
Led by Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren, TheMongolz had a nail-biting series against their countrymen, ATOX. After losing the opening map, they bounced back with two consecutive overtime wins.
The grand final saw TheMongolz exacting revenge on 5yclone.
They managed to claim victory on 5yclone’s map choice, Inferno, and then dominated on Overpass with a score of 16-3.
While none of TheMongolz’s players topped the highest-rated list, bLitz, Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold, and Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch all finished the online event with ratings exceeding 1.10.
The BLAST Premier Fall Final qualifier, featuring 16 teams, is scheduled for October 4-8.
It will be divided into two brackets of eight teams each, with the champions of each bracket advancing to the main event.
TheMongolz will compete against teams primarily from the Americas, avoiding European powerhouses like G2 and Liquid.
TheMongolz’s recent performance has undoubtedly put them on the radar as a team to watch out for in the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. Their resilience, strategy, and teamwork have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the CS:GO arena.
