Team BDS and XBorg Forge Pioneering Blockchain Alliance in Esports

European esports organization Team BDS has unveiled a partnership with Swiss Web3 esports organization XBorg. The collaboration aims to develop a variety of experiences for players and fans by merging esports and blockchain technology.

As part of the agreement, Team BDS and XBorg will construct the first-ever esports arena within The Sandbox, a popular blockchain-based virtual world. Additionally, both organizations will collaborate with Avatarz, an innovative platform enabling users to earn exclusive virtual collectibles and craft digital identities through personalized avatars.

Despite its recent entry into the esports scene, Team BDS has made a significant impact, particularly in Rocket League and League of Legends. The organization currently holds the title of Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) champions and acquired a slot in the League of Legends’ LEC for €26.5m (~£22.8m) in mid-2021.

XBorg, backed by wealth-management crypto app SwissBorg, is a blockchain-centric esports organization with a commercial portfolio that includes Polygon, Community Gaming, and Zilliqa. Besides competing in Web3 titles, the company organizes the Xtreme Championship Series, a Web3 esports league.
