SumaiL joins Team Aster after an impressive performance during Dota 2’s Berlin Major, leaving Nigma Galaxy behind.
Although there were initial concerns surrounding the language barrier, SumaiL managed to mesh well with Aster during the Major and the team secured a top-eight finish.
Many fans have praised SumaiL’s performance, citing it as an “eye-opening” experience after being away from Majors during his time with Nigma.
Aster had been in search of a mid laner, and the move to acquire SumaiL makes sense given the team’s previous interest in him. The Dota 2 community has noted that while the Chinese scene has a history of importing players from Southeast Asia, there have been very few European players joining full-Chinese teams.
Aster’s Weibo post suggests that SumaiL’s move is only temporary, as the team is still in talks with Nigma regarding his future. For now, SumaiL is set to join Aster on loan for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit’s summer tour.
Aster’s roster with SumaiL is as follows:
- Du “Monet” Peng
- Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
- Lin “Xxs” Jing
- Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao
- Yu “皮球” Yajun
