StudioNow Expands into Esports with Bad Moon Talent Acquisition

Digital content production firm StudioNow has acquired esports talent agency Bad Moon Talent, integrating the agency into its operations. The financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed.

Bad Moon Talent has established relationships with sports and esports agency SPORTFIVE and serves as the agency of record for Team Evolve. The talent agency also collaborates with other brands, such as mechanical keyboard company Matrix Keyboards.

Founded in 2006, StudioNow is a US-based visual content production company known for its content marketplace that helps businesses enhance their content creation goals. The company acquired Snapwire in 2022, further expanding its offerings, and is now entering the esports and gaming influencer arena with Bad Moon Talent.

The primary motivation behind the acquisition is influencer marketing. As part of StudioNow, Bad Moon Talent will offer access to social and streaming capabilities for influencer marketing campaigns and provide a superior production infrastructure for influencers collaborating with brands.

Clients will have a single point of entry to search and collaborate with Bad Moon Talent’s roster, alongside existing StudioNow personnel.

Andrew Drake, Co-founder and CEO of Bad Moon Talent, expressed confidence in the ability to generate increased income for digital talent and offer more cost-effective storytelling methods for brands through enhanced collaboration with creators.

David Mason, Founder and CEO of StudioNow, noted that the acquisition positions the company well to deliver value as brands increasingly turn to influencers to improve their offerings.
