The Scottish Esports Network, established in February 2023, is the brainchild of Dale R Murray, the former Creative Director of the Scottish Esports League. With half a decade of experience in Scottish esports, Dale observed a stark gap in community and industry growth domestically.
“Whenever there is an esports event in Scotland, there’s a fantastic buzz and a feeling of community that fizzles out very quickly afterwards,” Dale noted.
His vision for the Network is to cultivate a sustained and thriving esports environment in Scotland, inspired by successful models like ESI London in England.
The Goals of the Scottish Esports Network
Dale’s ambition extends beyond sporadic events. He envisions the Network as a catalyst for regular networking opportunities, panel discussions, guest lectures, and more.
“Scotland has a thriving game development industry, being the home of heavy hitters like Rockstar, 4J, and countless fantastic indie studios,” Dale remarks.
