SAW Beats Astralis to Qualify for Brazy Party Playoffs

SAW, the Portuguese squad, defeated Astralis 2-1 to secure a spot in the playoffs of Brazy Party.

SAW dominated Astralis on Ancient with a score of 16-6, but were beaten badly on their own pick of Nuke with a score of 4-16. The series went to Inferno as the decider, where SAW’s massive T-side effort secured them a convincing 16-8 victory and a playoff berth.

Astralis struggled in large part due to the underperformance of Nicolai “device” Reedtz, who posted 0.59 and 0.89 ratings on the two maps the Danes lost. On the other hand, Rafael “arrozdoce” Wing’s fantastic showing, with his 1.84 rating and nearly 30 frags on Inferno, helped SAW secure the victory.

SAW also defeated ENCE 2-1 in their first match of Brazy Party, proving their mettle against top 20 teams. Astralis, on the other hand, have struggled to reach elite levels since they brought device back into the fold late last year. Since their failed RMR campaign, they have made more changes by swapping out Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth for academy player Alexander “Altekz” Givskov.

The new-look Astralis comfortably bested GamerLegion 2-0 in Altekz’s debut but suffered an early setback with this loss to SAW. They still have the chance to make the playoffs of Brazy Party themselves, but they will face a tough matchup against ENCE. SAW, with the playoffs ahead of them, have further opportunity to show what they are capable of with the latest iteration of the lineup.
