Good news for the VALORANT fans! Riot Games France has given a new update on the replay feature that is expected to be released early next year. This was stated in the latest AMA video where Kael, the Community Lead at Riot Games France, answered to the players’ questions. Details are still undisclosed, but Kael stated that development is still in progress and more information will be released in 2025.
The replay system has been one of the most requested features since the launch of VALORANT in 2020 and has remained at the very top of players’ wishlists. As far back as May 2022, VALORANT producer Arnar Hrafn Gylfason stated that Riot had begun developing the feature. But the journey has not been easy. A prototype revealed this year had major technical issues, with visual issues like vanishing smokes and map issues, like broken doors on Ascent.
The community has only grown louder in its demand for a replay system in the past few months. Former FNATIC assistant coach Mini has chimed in, stating that if full replay functionality is impossible, Riot should at least offer personal match replays for players in VCT games. Given such high stakes, Riot’s approach to addressing feedback and overcoming these challenges will be paramount to meeting the expectations of the community.
