Leicester to Host UK’s Largest Super Smash Bros Ultimate Event

This August, Leicester’s historic Athena Events Venue will be the site of Regen 2024, potentially the largest Super Smash Bros Ultimate event ever held in the UK. Slated for August 23rd to 25th, the tournament aims to break the previous UK record for the largest Super Smash Bros event, set by Albion 4 at the Emirates Stadium.

ImageRegen 2024 hopes to attract up to 1,024 participants, which would surpass the 896 entrants recorded at Albion 4. The ambition is to make this event a landmark in UK esports, bringing together players and fans for a three-day festival of competition and entertainment.

Ticket Sales and Pricing

Tickets for Regen 2024 will be available starting April 26th. Early bird competitor tickets are priced at £60, increasing to £75 after the first week. Spectator tickets are also available, ranging from £20 for a single day pass to £50 for a full weekend pass.

Tournaments and Prize Pools

The headline tournament features the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Singles bracket with a £10 entry fee and a potential £10,240 prize pool if maximum participation is achieved. Additionally, Doubles and Squad Strike tournaments offer more competitive opportunities with significant prize pools.

Regen 2024 also includes tournaments for Super Smash Bros Melee and Brawl.

Each game features its own set of challenges, such as the Melee Singles and Doubles tournaments, and the Brawl bracket, each with tailored player caps and entry fees.

Featured Players: Global Stars to Compete

Regen 2024 will host top international players like MkLeo from Mexico, ranked 11th globally, and Maister, also from Mexico, ranked 23rd. European favorites such as Lancelot and Tarik are set to return, alongside North America’s Kola, making his first overseas competition appearance.

UK’s own Luugi, last year’s Regen champion, will be defending his title against a strong lineup of competitors, including Bloom4eva and other returning stars from previous tournaments.
