PGL Extends Partnership with IMG for Esports Events Through 2025

Esports tournament organizer PGL has announced the extension of its collaboration with IMG, a leading sports, events, and talent management company, until the end of 2025.

IMG will maintain its role as PGL’s partner for media, sponsorship, and data rights across the organizer’s entire event portfolio from 2023 to 2025.

The partnership between PGL and IMG dates back to 2018, with the latter responsible for selling a range of rights for the tournament organizer since then. PGL currently manages the Western Europe and North America stages of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC).

PGL recently revealed its plans to host the inaugural Major for Valve’s upcoming Counter-Strike 2 in Copenhagen next year. The new game is scheduled to replace CS:GO in the summer, with the final CS:GO Major being the BLAST.TV Paris Major in May.

PGL has a history of success in hosting Major events within CS:GO, including the highly popular PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which attracted 2.7 million peak viewers. The organizer’s most recent CS:GO Major took place in Antwerp, Belgium, last year, drawing 2.1 million peak viewers. Sponsors for that event included GG.BET, Bitget, and Secretlab.

IMG has also formed significant esports partnerships recently, including an alliance with the Global Esports Federation for the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships in Birmingham.

Silviu Stroie, PGL Esports CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the continued partnership with IMG, saying, “Over the last few years, we have come together to propel esports to new horizons, setting the benchmark for rights and sponsorship growth in the industry.”
