PALOMA Triumphs in ESL Polish Championship, Secures Spot in IEM Katowice 2024 Play-In

In a remarkable display of skill and strategy, PALOMA has clinched victory in the ESL Polish Championship, earning them a coveted spot in the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-In.

This success also grants them a ticket to the ESL Pro League’s NC EU qualifier.

PALOMA’s journey to the top was marked by a series of impressive performances, culminating in a grand final showdown against 9INE.

The team, currently without an organization and led by the former Permitta duo Patryk “⁠olimp⁠” Woźniak and Rafał “⁠sNx⁠” Snopek, showcased their prowess in the semi-finals against ThunderFlash before taking down 9INE in the finals. This triumph marks olimp and sNx’s third consecutive national title under different banners.

For 9INE, the event was a debut for their new lineup, featuring youngster Jakub “⁠jcobbb⁠” Pietruszewski.

Despite high expectations, the team, now led by Olek “⁠hades⁠” Miskiewicz as the AWPing in-game leader, fell short against PALOMA. This result comes as a disappointment, especially after the recent roster changes, including the removal of Wiktor “⁠mynio⁠” Kruk.

The final match, a best-of-three series, saw PALOMA take victories on Ancient (16-13) and Nuke (13-9).

Standout performances came from Bartosz ‘moonwalk’ Mikołajczyk and Alan ‘Flayy’ Krupa, who played pivotal roles in securing PALOMA’s victory. On the other side, Kamil ‘KEi’ Pietkun put up a valiant fight for 9INE, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favor.

With this win, PALOMA becomes the first team to qualify for the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-In stage, set to begin on January 31.

They will join other top teams like FaZe, G2, and MOUZ, who have already secured spots in the group stage. This victory puts PALOMA on the map and positions them as a team to watch in the upcoming IEM Katowice 2024.
