OG Disappoints at DreamLeague S24 Following Two Defeats to Palianytsia

OG Disappoints at DreamLeague S24 Following Two Defeats to Palianytsia

It was a bitter blow for the newly formed OG roster which has not been able to qualify for DreamLeague Season 24. Even though the team has some well-known players such as Nuengnara “23” Teeramahanon and Leon “Nine” Kirilin, the team failed to satisfy the fans’ expectations in the qualifiers.

A Review of OG’s Performance in DreamLeague S24 Qualifier

OG was invited to participate in the Western Europe regional qualifiers for DreamLeague S24, but their run ended unexpectedly. In their first series they lost to Palianytsia, a new team from the open qualifiers. On paper, OG should have won the match, but the defeat to a team with less popular streamers, such as Mykhailo “fortniteMan” Pylypenko and others, was a big surprise.

OG did however fight their way back through the lower bracket to meet Palianytsia once more. Sadly for OG, the replay was a carbon copy of the first match where Palianytsia won 2-0 and sent OG packing.

As ESL Dota 2’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted:

Palianytsia is the second WEU player who will join #DreamLeague S24! 🍞
Well done to @crystallize99, #Moonlight, #fortniteMan, #QBFY and #kreker!”

This series also showed that OG has problems, especially in the team fights. Palianytsia learned from OG’s mistakes, and OG’s support was often unable to safeguard the team’s cores. This put the likes of 23 and Nine in a position where they could not be able to change the tide even though they had good farm and net worth throughout the games. Even though each of the players in OG has his skills, the team failed to coordinate and suffered from team wipes, which did not give them a chance to turn the tide.

Who Are Palianytsia?

As for OG, they have some time to sit back and think about their lineup, whereas the focus is now on Team Palianytsia. This Ukrainian team, which has no experience in the international scene, has earned their first invitation to a major tournament, DreamLeague Season 24.

Palianytsia enters the list of the strongest teams, such as TI champions and other teams from all over the world. With Vladyslav “Crystallize” Krystanek as their captain, they have already proved that they are capable of upsetting a team like OG. Now, all the attention will be on them to see how they will fare in what seems to be one of the most competitive tournaments of the year.

It is sad to see OG go but the arrival of Palianytsia is a new addition to the competitive Dota 2 scene and again, anything can happen in the world of esports.
