OG Announces xNova as Their New Member of the Dota 2 Roster for 2025

The rumors are true

OG has officially signed Malaysian support player Yap “xNova” Jian Wei for their 2025 Dota 2 squad. This is a special occasion for the team and xNova, who has been with OG on trial since October of the previous year.

xNova’s Journey with OG

To those who are not aware, xNova has been with OG in the team’s competitive run in the past months as a stand-in after the TI roster changes. He got a chance to participate in some tournaments during the trial period such as:

• BLAST Slam I
• 1win Series Dota 2 Fall
• ESL One Bangkok 2024 – qualifiers

Although OG did not perform exceptionally well in those tournaments, the organization must believe in xNova’s skills and compatibility with the team. This belief has now led to his official signing.

Who is xNova?

xNova is not a rookie to the international Dota 2 scene. He is well known for his outstanding skills and stable performances, which make him one of the oldest support players in the scene.

Some of his achievements include:

• Being the runner-up at TI8 and TI9 playing for PSG.LGD
• Giving OG a run for their money in the grand finals of TI8

Besides his in-game abilities, xNova is also a native English speaker, which is a great advantage for a European team like OG. His ability to communicate effectively during the game and during the planning of strategies makes him a valuable asset to OG in the year 2025.

OG’s 2025 Outlook

OG has not been able to regain its past success in the recent past. Even when the team’s stars such as Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Johan “N0tail” Sundstein take charge of their young teammates, the team has not been able to regain its TI-winning form.
