The final closed qualifier spots for IEM Dallas Europe have been secured by Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) and GODSENT, leaving well-known teams like Movistar Riders, Sprout, and BIG behind.
NIP made it to the closed qualifier after failing to advance in the first open qualifier, losing 13-16 to 9 Pandas. In their second attempt, they defeated ECSTATIC, HEET, Iron Branch, and Monte 2-0. Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov’s exceptional performance, boasting a 1.47 rating and over 100 ADR, helped NIP reach the Dallas closed qualifier.
GODSENT had a more challenging path to qualification, narrowly defeating Biskvitki Zakuska and 500 in the round of 16 and quarter-finals. Their match against EPIC DUDES was also tight, with GODSENT taking the win on Overpass, losing on Ancient, and finally securing their spot with a victory on Inferno. William “draken” Sundin’s 1.40 rating and 99.8 ADR, along with Joel “joel” Holmlund’s crucial contributions, helped the team advance.
Astralis and sYnck, who succeeded in the first open qualifier, await in the closed qualifier. sYnck’s performance, particularly as they overcame higher-ranked teams like Tricked, has been a standout. Cloud9, fnatic, Spirit, and OG were directly invited to the closed qualifier.
Several prominent teams failed to qualify, including BIG, which was defeated by HEET and a mixed team in two attempts. Sprout lost to Iron Branch and IKLA, while Movistar Riders were eliminated by Source2 in their only attempt.
