Nigma Galaxy’s Downfall: Demotion to Division II Crushes DPC Hopes

Nigma Galaxy’s journey in Division I of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) has come to a disappointing end as they struggled to keep pace with top-tier teams, despite some initial success. Although they managed to snatch a few victories against strong opponents like Liquid and Gaming Gladiators, their inability to maintain momentum led to critical losses against Monaspa and Entity in tiebreaker matches. Consequently, Nigma Galaxy found itself at the bottom of Division I rankings, with no DPC points.

Now relegated to Division II for the upcoming DPC season, Nigma Galaxy will face stiff competition in their quest to regain Division I status. With zero DPC points and no further opportunities to acquire them before The International (TI) 2023, the team will have to navigate through open qualifiers for a shot at the prestigious TI 2023 event.

Nigma Galaxy’s initial rise in the competitive Dota scene seemed promising, especially after the additions of Syed “SumaiL” Hassan and Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf. Their subsequent entry into the DPC Western Europe (WEU) Tour 2: Division I was a significant achievement, but their performance thereafter proved underwhelming. Throughout the three-week tour, the team only secured a single series win against Ooredoo Thunders.

Despite showing potential in close matches against teams like Team Liquid, OG, and Gaimin Gladiators (GG), Nigma Galaxy fell short in crucial tiebreakers against Monaspa and Entity. These defeats resulted in their demotion to Division II, effectively eliminating their chances to participate in the Bali Major 2023.

Nigma Galaxy now faces the daunting challenge of competing in WEU open qualifiers, where numerous formidable teams will be vying for a spot in Division I. The road ahead will undoubtedly test their resilience and determination.

This turn of events is a bitter pill for both Nigma Galaxy and their supporters, who had high hopes after the team’s impressive showing in Division II. However, the team must refocus and return with renewed vigor for TI 2023, aiming to restore their reputation and achieve success.
