New Leak Reveals VALORANT Patch 9.08 Competitive Map Pool

New Leak Reveals VALORANT Patch 9.08 Competitive Map Pool

As Riot Games prepares for the release of VALORANT Patch 9.08, the company is not resting on its laurels when it comes to the game’s map pool. Like in the previous updates, some of the maps will return to the list of favorites, while others will be removed for some time to keep the competitive environment interesting.

Fortunately, we have some reliable leakers who have already shared some insights into what to expect from the next patch. Below, I’ll outline the new competitive map pool and other changes in Patch 9.08.

Competitive Map Pool for VALORANT Patch 9.08

In the new update, players grinding the ranked ladder will be battling it out on the following maps:

  • Abyss
  • Ascent
  • Bind
  • Haven
  • Pearl
  • Split
  • Sunset

These seven maps will be your battlegrounds for the foreseeable future, with a combination of old and new favorites.

Maps Leaving the Competitive Queue

While the new pool introduces some great options, several maps will be taking a backseat this time around:

  • Lotus
  • Icebox
  • Breeze
  • Fracture

For now, these maps will be banned from the ranked mode, but they can be brought back in future updates since Riot likes to switch maps often.

What is new Beyond the Map Pool?

Apart from the map changes, the Doombringer Bundle will be available in Patch 9.08, which includes stylish skins for Phantom, Odin, Judge, Sheriff, and a Hammer melee weapon. This bundle is going to be a hit with collectors and those who want to add some menacing graphics to their collection.

VALORANT Patch 9.08 Release Date and Global Rollout

Although Riot Games has not officially announced the release date of Patch 9.08, leaks indicate that it will be released together with Episode 9 Act 3 on October 23, 2024. If the leaks are accurate, here’s when you can expect the patch to go live across various time zones:
