VCT 2023: EMEA League Sets New Regional Popularity Record
The VCT 2023: EMEA League has become the region’s most popular VCT event to date, following the opening matches featuring top teams from the area. The tournament boasts four VCT Masters and three VCT Champions slots up for grabs, with an additional Masters slot awarded to the region following Fnatic’s victory at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

The two initial matches saw NAVI face off against KOI, garnering 269K peak viewers (PV), while Giants and Fnatic drew 140K PV. These numbers surpassed the VCT 2023: Pacific League’s day one peak match, which had 227K PV. Spanish was the most-watched language at 118K PV, followed by English at 92K PV and Turkish with 28K PV. Twitch was the leading platform, amassing 241K PV, and YouTube followed with 27K PV.
In comparison to previous regional events, the VCT 2023: EMEA League has already broken records in terms of PV, surpassing the former record-holder, VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. Among the attendees for the event at Messe Berlin Charlottenburg were high-ranking NAVI executives, along with esports legend s1mple.
NAVI Head of Esports Amiran Rekhviashvili, CEO Yevhen Zolotarev, and CS:GO superstar s1mple were present to support their Valorant team. S1mple engaged with fans and even took part in a half-time interview with Yinsu Collins, where he humorously shared his desire to participate in the NAVI-KOI match but was denied by ANGE1.
The relationship between NAVI Valorant IGL, ANGE1, and s1mple dates back to their time together on the HellRaisers CS:GO team in 2014. With the VCT 2023 International Leagues off to an impressive start, fans can anticipate exciting matches throughout the season. The VCT 2023: EMEA League will continue until May 28, with the Regular Season ending on May 19 and Playoffs scheduled from May 23 to May 28.
