MSI 2023 Set to Take Place in London, England at the Copper Box Arena

This year’s Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is fast approaching, offering League of Legends fans a sneak peek at the action they can anticipate at the World Championship later in the year.

MSI 2023 will commence on May 2, after the draw show on April 23, which will follow the LEC Spring Playoffs finals and establish the play-in stage layout. The tournament will continue through May 21.

In a break from tradition, the 2023 MSI will be held in London, England, at the Copper Box Arena, marking the first time the event takes place in the United Kingdom. MSI was previously held in Europe during the 2018 tournament. The event promises various activities and celebrations for all participating teams, both in and out of the arena.

MSI will feature competitors from all regions that participate in Worlds, including the four major regions—North America’s LCS, Europe’s LEC, South Korea’s LCK, and China’s LPL—and minor regions like Brazil’s CBLoL and Japan’s LJL. Almost all regions will send their top seed from the Spring Split, with most beginning their journey in the play-in stage.

Previously, only the LPL and LCK had two representatives at MSI, with the first seed advancing directly to the bracket stage and the second seed joining the other regions in the play-ins. This year, however, the LCS and LEC will also receive an additional representative, who will enter the tournament in a similar manner as the LPL and LCK teams.

As the event unfolds, it is likely that some LEC teams not qualifying for MSI, along with various teams across EMEA Masters, will schedule fan activities in the area.
