MidOne’s Possible Return to the Midlane: Team SMG Rumored Lineup Changes

Rumors are circulating in the Dota 2 community that Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng, the offlane player for Team SMG, may be making a return to the midlane position for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) tour.

Speculation intensified after MidOne was spotted practicing midlane in his pub games, suggesting that he may be preparing for the role switch.

MidOne, known for his exceptional skills in the midlane, has previously played the position for Fnatic and Team Secret, as well as briefly taking on the carry role for OG. With ample experience in the midlane, his potential return to the position could bring a new dynamic to Team SMG’s gameplay.

Following Team SMG’s underwhelming performance at the Berlin Major 2023, where they failed to advance past the group stages, the team decided to part ways with Kam “Moon” Boon Seng and Wilson “poloson” Koh. Although the team has not made any official announcements regarding their replacements, Dota 2 Pro Tracker has revealed that Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla, a support player formerly with Geek Slate, and Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee, an offlane player currently on the inactive roster of Bleed Esports, have been added to Team SMG’s roster.

If Jaunuel and Masaros do join the team, it would leave only the midlane position open, further supporting the speculation of MidOne’s return to the midlane. Fans eagerly await the official confirmation from Team SMG regarding their new lineup and the role assignments for the upcoming DPC tour.
