MASONIC, a non-academy team, was crowned champions of the Heroes of Lofoten tournament after winning all their matches, culminating in a 2-0 victory over PROSPECTS in the grand final.
The Danish squad did not drop a single map throughout the event, taking home a cash prize of $5,500.
The team qualified for the Norwegian tournament after narrowly defeating 7AM in the Closed Qualifier. MASONIC started their run by beating MOUZ NXT before dispatching Astralis Talent, which fielded Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth. The veteran was unable to prevent the Danes from winning, and MASONIC went on to defeat PROSPECTS in the grand final.
Heroes of Lofoten featured young talents from the WePlay Academy League, with Johan “hype” Engblom leading the event with a 1.45 rating before falling ill. MASONIC’s duo of Theis “J3nsyy” Jensen and Anton “Anlelele” Huynh followed with 1.34 and 1.27, respectively.
