LVP Announces VCT EMEA Ascension Tournament as Final Opportunity for Aspiring Teams

Esports production company LVP has revealed plans to organize a last-chance promotion event called Play In Ascension for teams seeking entry into the VCT EMEA, Riot Games’ premier VALORANT competition.

The tournament is scheduled for June 2023 and will provide the winning team a shot at earning a spot in the VCT EMEA.

Serving as the final opportunity for teams to gain entry into the VCT EMEA through the two-year promotion system, Play In Ascension is an integral part of the broader VALORANT league structure. It functions as a last-chance qualifier for regional finalists who were unable to secure victories in their respective leagues.

With the introduction of Play In Ascension, teams that fell short in the regional finals now have another opportunity to enter the VCT EMEA. The tournament’s winner will join the VALORANT Challengers victors in a battle to become the tenth team in the VCT EMEA. The EMEA’s Challenger ecosystem comprises the following regional leagues: Northern Europe, Spain, France, DACH, Turkey, Europe East, MENA, Italy, and Portugal.

As one of Spain’s largest esports companies and a prominent production company in the sector, LVP mainly focuses on broadcasting Spanish esports tournaments across various titles. Additionally, LVP is a Riot Games partner and serves as the official Spanish partner for both the VCT and the LEC.

ImageThe semi-final and final matches of the Play In Ascension tournament will be live-streamed on LVP’s Twitch Channel. The company has been enjoying a period of growth, with viewership across all its broadcasts rising consistently in 2022. The upcoming Play In Ascension event is expected to contribute to these growing numbers as well.
