Ludwig and DisguisedToast’s VALORANT Creator Showdown Ends with Contrasting Records

The 2023 NA VALORANT Challengers season witnessed the entry of two creator-backed organizations, and their performances in the second and final split couldn’t have been more different.

In the last week of the split, the Moist Moguls team, supported by popular YouTubers MoistCr1TiKaL and Ludwig, finished with a flawless 5-0 record, securing first place.

The team, consisting of thief, aproto, brawk, flyuh, and sym, displayed dominance throughout the second group stage, accumulating a map score of 10-2 and an impressive +60 round differential. Their season highlights include a remarkable comeback against G2, a significant victory against top team The Guard, and dominant wins over MAD Lions and OREsports.

On the other hand, Disguised Toast’s team found themselves at the opposite end of the standings in their group, despite a high-profile acquisition.

Prior to the split, Toast made waves with the addition of former OpTic/Cloud9 star yay, raising expectations for his team’s performance and their chances of securing a playoff spot. However, the split turned out to be a brutal one for Disguised Toast’s team, as they went 0-5 even after yay joined the roster.

This result places them at the bottom or near the bottom of the split standings. It is almost certain that Toast’s team will have to fight for survival in the upcoming relegation tournament in June. To avoid going through open qualifiers again, they will need to finish in the top two of the four-team double-elimination relegation bracket.

Meanwhile, the Moist Moguls have secured a spot in the Challengers playoffs and have a chance to qualify for the Americas Ascension tournament with a top-two finish. This opens up the possibility of promotion to VCT Americas for MoistCr1TiKaL and Ludwig’s team.

The presence of these two creator-backed teams has been beneficial for the league, attracting increased viewership.

Fans have enjoyed watching the creators react to their teams’ triumphs and heartbreaks in real-time. There is hope that both teams will return to the league next year, and perhaps we will finally witness a showdown between the Moist Moguls and Disguised Toast’s team on a VALORANT server.
