LoL Patch 14.19 – The Worlds Patch is Here!

LoL Patch 14.19 is coming, and it is important as it will be the beginning of the journey to Worlds 2024. While Patch 14.18 has just released on September 11, Riot Games is already preparing new updates. As the competitive scene becomes more intense, the dev team has been busy fine-tuning champions and items to change the meta for the biggest event of the year.

K’Sante, Elise, and Tristana are at the top of the list of champions that will be affected, but they are not the only ones. Riot is also making drastic changes to a number of products at the same time. From boots to legendary gear and even smaller item components, almost every part of the itemization game is being polished.

Patch Details

Below are the complete patch details, but it appears that the primary goal is to tone down AP (Ability Power) items since magic-damage-based champions have been dominating recent meta. Since costs are being changed on many items, these changes will greatly affect mid-game power spikes, which will be sure to affect both professional and solo queue games.

As the first week of Patch 14.19 rolls out, we are likely to experience more changes and possibly even more adjustments. Considering the extent of these changes, this could easily be one of the most impactful patches Riot has released in quite some time. It is expected that the meta will change frequently as the competitive scene progresses.

Item and Rune Changes

In addition to the item changes, Riot is also tuning some of the most important runes for marksman champions, who have dominated the ranked ladder in high-level play. This patch could very well shake up the ADC role as we head into Worlds.

Patch 14.19 Release Date

Mark your calendars—Patch 14.19 is expected to be launched on Wednesday, September 25. This will be the 19th patch in a total of 24 patches planned for the year 2024.

Meta Impact: What Can We Expect?

It is still very fresh and with mid-patch changes, it is still unclear how the meta will look. Still, given the confirmed alterations, it is possible to make some assumptions. Elise is receiving a much-needed buff, which will bring her back to the meta after she has been hit by some recent nerfs. Likewise, Tristana is getting some love after several patches of downgrades in her abilities. At the same time, K’Sante is changing for the third time. This time, Riot seems to want to make him even more of a real tank, based on his scaling with resistances rather than allowing him to snowball with health from Grasp of the Undying. This change should make him a bit more balanced in the late game by capping his damage output.
