LoL Patch 13.8 Criticized as “Most Useless” MSI Update by LS

Popular content creator LS has criticized League of Legends Patch 13.8 as the “most useless MSI patch ever” in a YouTube video released on April 19.

He argues that the update lacks significant competitive balance changes, which he considers a joke.

The patch includes buffs for ten heroes (Ezreal, Garen, Janna, Kha’zix, Kog’Maw, Leona, Lillia, Nidalee, Poppy, and Zoe) and nerfs for four (Aurelion Sol, Jarvan IV, Malphite, and Rakan). Additionally, it features a single item change for Cosmic Drive. However, LS asserts that these changes aren’t drastic enough to impact MSI significantly.

According to LS, the patch is like a placebo, creating an illusion of change without causing any major alterations.

This adds to his existing disappointment with the meta heading into MSI due to Patch 13.6, which he claimed did not modify the “stale, stagnant, and depressive” meta that has persisted for four months.

Despite LS’s harsh criticism, League fans are more optimistic about the patch’s impact on games. They highlight Jarvan IV’s nerf, Garen’s buff, and Nidalee’s boosts as standout changes. However, LS feels that Riot missed the opportunity to create a new meta for the upcoming MSI 2023, which begins on May 2.
