The team experienced a close call as Nouns pushed the final qualifying series to all three maps. Liquid, led by Nick “nitr0” Cannella, began with a 16-11 victory on Inferno but lost in overtime on their Ancient pick before bouncing back with a 16-9 win on Nuke, confirming their place in Paris.
In the meantime, FURIA locked in their spot in the Legends stage of the Major after winning the first-place decider match against paiN. They initially lost on their Overpass pick but managed a reverse-sweep by claiming victories on Vertigo and Mirage.
Liquid began the RMR with wins over 00NATION and Flamengo but stumbled in a tight match against FURIA in the 2-0 matchup, missing the opportunity for an early Paris Major spot. The world’s 6th-ranked team faced a North American opponent with significantly less international exposure in their second attempt to qualify for the Major, resulting in a closer contest than anticipated as their Ancient pick proved unsuccessful.
