Riot Games has revealed that a special international edition of Champions Queue will be introduced on Europe’s League of Legends servers in late April, coinciding with the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) scheduled for May 2023.
Champions Queue is a highly competitive, invite-only environment where players participate in ranked games alongside other top-tier players. These games are particularly captivating, as they unite players from various teams, showcasing exceptional skill and intense competition.
The allure of Champions Queue intensifies during international events, as it brings together the world’s finest players, allowing fans to witness potential all-star teams and exhilarating matchups. Many of these games are streamed, providing fans with a behind-the-scenes view of professional players’ strategies and communication abilities.
The MSI 2023 edition of Champions Queue will extend invitations to all MSI competitors, as well as players from the starting lineup of LEC teams in the 2023 Spring Split. With MSI taking place in Europe, the region will have the opportunity to send its players to Champions Queue, much like North America did during the previous year’s World Championship.
Additional invites will be sent to Challenger-level ERL players, LEC substitutes, and players from other tournament-eligible regions who are in Europe for boot camp between the spring and summer seasons.
