Korea remains the powerhouse of the League of Legends as the LCK region has been the winner of the last two World Championships through DRX in 2022 and T1 in 2023. Even though LPL teams are giving a tough competition to LCK teams, the LCK has been the most successful region in LoL history. Four LCK teams are going to compete for Korea in Europe later this year as the Summer Playoffs draw near.
Gen. G qualifies for the Summer Playoffs and MSI winners, they become the first team to confirm their place among the 20 teams at this year’s biggest tournament.
Format Overview
The LCK will again use the double elimination format from Round 2 and continue the format from the previous years. The six teams that performed the best in the Summer Split will qualify for the playoffs, with the first two teams getting a direct ticket to Round 2. The teams ranked #3 to #6 will play in Round 1 and any team that loses will be out of the tournament. All matches will be best of five (Bo5) and the winner will be the top seed from the region to Worlds.
