German Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend has taken to Twitter to announce his new role as assistant coach for Bad News Eagles (BNE) during the upcoming BLAST.tv Paris Major cycle. kRYSTAL has been working with the predominantly Kosovar team for three weeks, aiming to prepare them for the RMR A opening match against 1WIN on April 6.
kRYSTAL is best known for his decade-long professional gaming career, playing for notable organizations such as GODSENT, ALTERNATE aTTaX, and Sprout. The 29-year-old made three Major appearances with PENTA and contributed to quarter-final showings at DreamHack Winter 2014 and ESL One Katowice 2015.
After retiring from playing in December, kRYSTAL shifted his focus to coaching, joining Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen’s undefined roster in February. Despite limited success in that role, he now joins BNE as their second coaching addition this year, following Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg in January.
BNE hopes to secure their third consecutive Major spot at the BLAST.tv Paris Major RMR, beginning April 6. Previously, the team qualified for the IEM Rio and PGL Antwerp Majors without organizational support, a feat not seen since dAT at ESL One Cologne 2014.
The BNE roster for the BLAST.tv Paris Major cycle includes:
- Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci (Kosovo)
- Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi (Kosovo)
- Rigon “rigoN” Gashi (Switzerland)
- Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti (Kosovo)
- Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci (Kosovo)
- Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg (Sweden, coach)
- Kieran “KayJay” Playfair (Canada, assistant coach)
- Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend (Germany, assistant coach)
