KOI looks to Rekkles for support role in LEC Summer roster reshuffle

After a lackluster start to the 2023 LEC season, KOI is reportedly making a massive change to its starting lineup.

According to a report from BLIX.gg’s Alejandro Gomis, KOI is looking to replace support Trymbi. A number of players have been considered for the role, including Advienne from Fnatic and Zoelys from LDLC OL. However, it has also been reported that KOI has interviewed Rekkles for the position.

Fnatic recently revealed that Rekkles would be benched for LEC Summer following his move away from the AD carry role after ten years. KOI and Fnatic both struggled throughout the LEC Spring Split and did not make it to the playoffs.

Both Rekkles and Trymbi are signed with their respective teams through November 2024, but their contracts can be bought out by other teams. The start dates for LEC Summer have not been determined yet, but both teams will have time to assess their roster changes during the Mid-Season Invitational.

The LEC is not the only major league undergoing sweeping roster changes either, with LCS teams such as TSM and Evil Geniuses also making significant moves ahead of the next split.

The teams have about four weeks before the next League split begins.
