Imperial emerge victorious in the BLAST Premier Spring Americas Showdown, sealing their place in the Spring Final after a 2-0 series win against paiN.
Led by Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Imperial outperformed Complexity, EG Black, and paiN to claim victory in the Americas Showdown. Their hard-earned win started with a fierce battle on Inferno. Thanks to Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian’s efforts, Imperial established an early lead before paiN made a comeback during the first half’s final moments. Despite some struggles, Imperial ultimately thwarted a bombsite hit in round 30, denying a bomb plant and securing their map pick.
Starting on Mirage, paiN’s map choice, they initially took a 5-0 lead on the T side. However, their momentum was short-lived as Imperial closed the gap to one round before halftime. Exceptional calls and multi-frags from FalleN and Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes bolstered Imperial’s offense, leading to a decisive 16-9 victory over their fellow Brazilian team.
Imperial demonstrated resilience and strong organization in their qualifying effort, bouncing back from narrow losses to FURIA, SAW, and Complexity at ESL Pro League Season 17 just a month prior. This triumph bolsters their confidence as they prepare for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, scheduled to take place in Monterrey, Mexico, from April 6-9.
Despite their impressive wins over MIBR and Liquid, paiN’s defeat in the finals is a tough setback. However, their solid performance at the ESL Pro League in March and their victories in the Showdown bode well for their Major aspirations. Like Imperial, paiN will also participate in the upcoming Monterrey event, where only five spots in Paris are up for grabs.
The finalized team list for the BLAST Premier Spring Final, set to occur from June 7-11 with a prize pool of $425,000, includes the following teams:
- G2 (Europe)

- Vitality (Europe)
- Astralis (Denmark)
- FaZe (Europe)
