Norwegian esports organization Heroic has revealed a collaboration with sim racing hardware brand VRS to back its sim racing team. Moving forward, Heroic drivers will utilize VRS racing simulator hardware, including the brand’s racing rig. The duration of the partnership and financial details were not disclosed.
VRS (Virtual Racing School) specializes in providing customized lessons for budding sim racers. Supported by professional sim racing drivers, the company offers education and training segments. In 2019, VRS expanded into the hardware market and now supplies a variety of sim racing hardware, such as pedal sets and wheelbases.
Primarily known for its CS:GO team, Heroic also maintains a team of four sim racing drivers who compete in Rennsport, a sim racing title popular as a base for ESL R1. The partnership with VRS is one of the first esports-focused collaborations for the company and one of the first sponsors for Heroic’s sim racing team. Established in early 2023, the Heroic Rennsport team has yet to demonstrate its capabilities in competition.
Heroic expressed its excitement in a statement on its website, saying, “We are committed to supporting our athletes in every way possible, and this partnership with VRS is a testament to that commitment. We are excited to work with VRS and their expert team to help our racers achieve their full potential and be competitive at the highest level.”
The alliance with VRS comes as Heroic’s first partnership after raising crucial funds in March 2023.
