In a bold expansion of its esports portfolio, Heroic, primarily known for its achievements in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has announced its entry into the Dota 2 arena.
The Norwegian organization, which revealed its plans to compete in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Fortnite in September 2023, officially unveiled its Dota 2 roster on January 4th, 2024, signaling a new chapter in its competitive journey.
The newly formed team, set to compete in the South American league, is a blend of seasoned professionals and emerging talents. The roster includes players from TI-qualified teams like nouns, beastcoast, and Keyd Stars, alongside Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn, a top offlaner from Germany known for his time with D2 Hustlers. Heroic’s manager, Vitória “Guashineen” Otero, expressed her enthusiasm about the new team in a recent post.
She highlighted the team’s upcoming participation in major tournaments, stating, “Hello, it’s me again guys! RAAAAHHH IM SO HAPPY!! Excited with this project and with what we are building. Thank you very much @heroicgg for this opportunity, we are gonna rock together! Our first tournaments will be the opens for EFG’s [ESL] and closed [qualifiers] of BetBoom Dacha.”
The team is set to debut in the BetBoom Dacha 2024 closed qualifiers on January 7th, followed by the DreamLeague Season 22 Qualifiers on January 9th.
