The Australian team Grayhound has become one of the two teams from the Asia RMR to qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, after a hard-fought victory against TheMongolz in a three-map series during the upper bracket grand final.
This win marks a perfect run for Grayhound, as Joshua “INS” Potter and his teammates overcame TYLOO (16-8), Eruption (16-12), and ultimately TheMongolz (2-1) to secure their place in the final CS:GO Major.
The teams that have qualified for the BLAST.tv Paris Major so far include:
- Natus Vincere
- Into the Breach
- Bad News Eagles
- paiN
- fnatic
- GamerLegion
- FURIA
- Grayhound
Despite an initial 12-3 lead in the opening map of Anubis, Grayhound stumbled as TheMongolz mounted a remarkable comeback, eventually taking the map 19-16 in overtime. Grayhound then regained their footing, performing well on Inferno (9-6) and ultimately forcing a deciding map on Ancient. The final map proved to be a close contest, but Grayhound managed to secure victory.
