As Episode 9 Act 3 approaches, VALORANT is preparing to release a new map, but it will not be for the competitive roster. However, Riot Games is introducing a new battlefield specifically for TDM called Glitch. This map is now available for casual players to jump in and try their hand at aiming in a fun, frenetic environment.
In this article, we’ll be covering everything that you need to know about Glitch, the newest TDM map in VALORANT.
Welcome to ‘Glitch’: A New Kind of TDM Experience
Glitch is one of the main features of Patch 9.08. It is a 5v5 TDM map located in the Max Bot Arena, but with a glitched aesthetic and electrifying gameplay. The map is based on the story of Max Bots, the fighting robots developed by the talented pair of Killjoy and Raze seen in VALORANT’s 2022 trailer. This choice also reaffirms Riot’s continued efforts to offer more relaxed, easy-to-play modes that add variety to gameplay beyond ranked.
Map Design: A Combination of the Known and the New
Glitch takes visual and tactical aspects from Haven, Pearl, and Sunset maps that fans of the game have always appreciated. It has a different design from other TDM maps; it has narrow corridors compared to large open areas, which forces players to hold certain positions instead of charging around. The map has three lanes and high walls, which makes it more about positioning and strategy rather than speed and aggression, which is why those who are good at planning and using ambushes will be useful here.
Gameplay Mechanics: Intense, Quick and Competitive Conflicts
As expected from any VALORANT TDM, Glitch sets the task to get 100 kills within 10 minutes. The first team to reach this score wins the game. However, all players will gain 1,000 XP regardless of the game result, making the game enjoyable for all participants.
