Introduction
GiantX, the UK and Spanish esports giant, has unveiled its 2025 academy lineup for the League of Legends LVP Spanish Superliga.
The Roster
The roster blends returning talents and promising new additions:
- Feisty (Mid, South Korea) and Aetinoth (ADC, Türkiye) are the players who have strengthened their positions with outstanding performances last year.
- Badlulu (Top, France), a veteran of Superliga for Case Esports.
- Ferret (Jungle, Türkiye) – a relatively new player from Turkey, who used to play for FUT.
- Lospa (Support, South Korea), the Iberian Cup winner and the Gen.G Academy graduate.
This team will be known as GiantX Pride and will be coached by Fearless from Portugal, a three-time Superliga title winner with GiantX. Fearless returns to the organisation after captaining groups such as Guasones and Rebels, with the aim of bringing GiantX to their first-ever Superliga title since 2021.
Momentum from 2024 Success
This comes after GiantX Pride’s victory in the Iberian Cup 2024, which saw the team part ways with former coach Torok (UK) on a winning note. The momentum is perfect for the new team as they prepare for the Superliga season that starts in January 2025.
Leadership Changes
The roster reveal also comes with internal leadership shifts at GiantX after co-CEO Tim Reichert left the company last month. Reichert was instrumental in the 2022 merger that formed GiantX from two esports organisations. Now, co-CEO José Ramón Díaz is solely in charge of the organisation. Reichert reflected on his departure:
We didn’t just grow the business — we evolved Excel as a team and brand, setting it up for the journey ahead with Giants Gaming. I am happy with what has been achieved and I am confident with whoever takes over the mantle at GiantX. I have no doubt that José has the vision to continue this foundation and grow it further.”
Fan Event and Showmatch Announcement
The 2025 lineup was presented at a closed event in GiantX’s Málaga base, where more than 150 fans were present, and with the help of the team’s main sponsor, Opel. Other activities included raffles, games, and a showmatch against Barça Esports where the fans got to see the new team in action for the first time.
Feisty (2003) and Aetinoth (2005) are returning players who have already been noted as potential future LEC players and Badlulu (2002), Ferret (2001), and Lospa (2002) are new additions with experience on their side.
A Look Ahead at Superliga 2025
GiantX is the most decorated organization in Superliga history with seven titles and the organization is ready to take back the throne. The 2025 Superliga will feature ten teams, including notable rivals like Barça Esports, Los Heretics, Movistar Koi, and others, competing across three splits: winter, spring, and summer.
New formats and an exciting schedule that will be unveiled shortly will keep fans entertained as GiantX Pride continues the search for its eighth championship.
