GIANTX Disbands IgNar and Kaas as They Start to Rebuild Their Roster

GIANTX Starts Audition for New Team

As per the latest information from Sheep Esports, GIANTX is going to release support player Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun and Head Coach Christophe “Kaas” van Oudheusden. This decision comes after a difficult year for the organization where the team has been struggling in the lower half of the rankings.

Although the team consisted of experienced players such as Odoamne, Patrik, and former world champion jungler Juhan, the team underperformed and could not achieve a better result than the 6th place. This poor performance forced the organization to withdraw from the competition, and the management had to reconsider the team’s lineup.

The LEC team is said to be going through a massive reshuffle, with trials for new players already being held for the 2025 season before the end of Worlds 2024.

Search for a New Head Coach

Kaas, who was part of GIANTX before the Excel and GIANTS merger in 2023, was a coach at MAD Lions. In the future, as GIANTX progresses, they will be looking for a new head coach to lead the team into the next season. Assistant coach Nicolas “Nico” Perez is expected to stay with the organization.

As for the player changes, no particular players have been named to replace IgNar in the support position. Juhan’s contract also expires at the end of the year, so the jungle position is also another possible change. Although Odoamne and Th3Antonio are no longer with the team, meaning the top lane is now free for the taking, other important contracts remain; Jackies has until 2026, while Patrik has one year left on his contract.

More Changes on the Horizon?

There are rumors that more changes in the GIANTX lineup will occur as the transfer window is scheduled to open in November. The roster seems far from being overhauled, and the coming months will show what the new team will look like as GIANTX aims to recover from a difficult year.
