Four Teams Qualify for Thunderpick WC 2024 Berlin LAN Finals

Following the Play-In phase that was as exciting as it was grueling, the teams for the Thunderpick WC 2024 LAN Finals in Berlin are determined. These teams have struggled to earn their spots and are now only days away from stepping out on November 2nd. Now let’s look at how OG, Heroic, The MongolZ, and 3DMAX earned their tickets to Berlin.

OG’s Victory Over BIG in the Comeback

OG’s run to the Thunderpick WC 2024 Finals is a dream run. At first, they were not even on the schedule but joined in when UNPAID, formerly known as BLEED, backed out. Nevertheless, OG has now come from the outside and entered the top four, which means they fully deserve a LAN invite.

In their Play-In match against BIG, they got off to a bad start, and BIG took the first map without much fuss. But OG came back with an amazing 13-1 finish on Ancient, which gave them the victory in style. MoDo led the charge with a 59:27 record, while F1KU’s incredible form turnaround has seen him become an important player in this entire CS2 competition. Going into the Finals as the outsiders, OG could be the team that no one saw coming in Berlin.

Heroic Dispatch Fnatic with Ease

As predicted, Heroic made short work of Fnatic and swept them in two straight maps. In recent games, Heroic has looked almost unbeatable, while Fnatic was unable to find a way to counter them.

With players like TeSeS, degster, and NertZ playing at the top of their game, Heroic goes to the LAN Finals as one of the favorites. If they maintain this kind of pace, Heroic could easily become the team to contend with in Berlin.

The MongolZ Triumph Over Imperial

The MongolZ remain as one of the promising CS2 teams and they proved it by defeating Imperial to book their slot in the LAN Finals. Trading maps, The MongolZ dominated the game especially on the CT side and on the Inferno map.

Notably, three of their players were negative on the kill count across all three maps, while AWPer 910 just scraped through to be positive by one. The real hero? Senzu, whose score of 71:43 was crucial in the fight that took The MongolZ to the top four. Their synergy and Senzu’s heroics make them a team to look out for in Berlin.

3DMAX Defeats BESTIA in a Close Three-Map Battle

The path of 3DMAX to Berlin was far from being linear. Their Play-In match against BESTIA was a tough one and went to the last buzzer with some surprises. Although they were able to take it to two maps and some critical mistakes, 3DMAX stood their ground and finally took the last map on Anubis to book their LAN spot.
