In a significant roster change ahead of the LCS Spring Finals, FlyQuest has benched starting support Bill “Eyla” Nguyen and reinstated Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon to the support role. The team will face Golden Guardians in Raleigh, North Carolina, on April 8, with the winner challenging Cloud9 for the LCS Spring Split title.
The lineup change was announced in an update video featuring FlyQuest president and chief gaming officer Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith and general manager Nick Phan. During Eyla’s visa-related absence, Winsome had helped FlyQuest achieve an 8-1 start to the Spring Split, including a notable victory over Cloud9.
FlyQuest’s performance faltered after Eyla rejoined the starting lineup, and they ended the split with a 6-4 record, including a tiebreaker loss to Cloud9. Since stepping down to the NACL, Winsome has impressed FlyQuest with his growth, response to feedback, and adaptability.
As FlyQuest prepares to face a revitalized Golden Guardians, fans eagerly await the results of this roster change in the 2023 LCS Spring Finals opening match on April 8.
