FaZe Clan Elevates Matt Augustin to VP of Brand and Creative Strategy

North American esports organization FaZe Clan has announced the promotion of Matt ‘BK’ Augustin to the position of Vice President of Brand and Creative Strategy.

Augustin previously served as FaZe Clan’s Director of Brand & Creative Strategy for two years. In his new role, he will be tasked with enhancing the organization’s brand, identifying opportunities for FaZe Clan’s partners, shaping its creative strategy for business proposals, and producing content.

Before joining FaZe Clan, Augustin worked with various advertising agencies on campaigns for brands such as the NFL, Adidas, and Activision. During his time with the esports organization, he has helped secure and maintain deals with McDonald’s, DraftKings, SteelSeries, SCUF, and DoorDash, among others.

FaZe Clan is potentially facing more changes in the future. After a brief social media break, the organization tweeted on March 22nd, acknowledging its need to improve. The tweet also mentioned plans to discuss potential changes with its original members.

Although FaZe Clan has signed significant deals with Nike and Porsche this year, the company’s stock price remains below $1, last surpassing the threshold on February 7th. If the stock price does not rise above $1, the company risks being delisted from the NASDAQ stock exchange.

In February, FaZe Clan reportedly laid off around 20% of its staff due to economic challenges and insufficient capital, according to Business Insider. The organization’s Q4 and annual 2022 financial results are set to be released on March 30th, 2023.

Zach Katz, FaZe Clan’s President and COO, praised Augustin’s promotion, stating that he brings immense value, critical strategy, determination, and energy to the organization.
