ESI London, the world’s esports industry festival, is set to become even bigger and better this year with the introduction of two new events: checkpoint and the ESI London Film Festival. With over 700 attendees from around the world expected to attend on October 16th-17th at BOXPARK Wembley, the event has established itself as the go-to gathering for esports and gaming professionals, investors, and enthusiasts.
This year, ESI London is expanding its horizons by adding events focused on the creator economy and film, reflecting the rapidly evolving nature of the esports and video game industries. The creator economy within the video game industry has seen significant growth, with Twitch and YouTube gaming creators earning over $6bn in revenue in 2021, a 20% increase from the previous year. As this trend continues, checkpoint, an event for the video games creator economy, will take place on October 17th at BOXPARK Wembley, providing valuable insights into the latest trends and developments.
The inaugural ESI London Film Festival will also take place on the evening of October 17th, highlighting the potential of video games and esports to make a positive difference in people’s lives. The festival will focus on stories related to esports and video games, with themes of digital inequality, diversity, and mental health. This new addition to the ESI London agenda will provide a platform for the untold stories of the industry and offer attendees an opportunity to engage with the medium of film.
ESI London 2023 will also feature pre-scheduled meetings capability and AI-powered matchmaking function to enhance the attendee experience. Alongside main stage sessions and workshops, attendees will also have ample opportunities for fun and entertainment, including VR gaming, pop golf, and axe throwing. Catering to diverse dietary requirements, the event will feature exceptional culinary options from outlets such as Smoky Boys, Sides, and Zia Lucia.
ESI London 2023 promises to be the biggest and best edition yet, with a full lineup of speakers and events set to be announced in the coming months.
