Spirit defeats MOUZ to reach the Grand Final
This win in Belgrade ended Team Spirit’s long battle against MOUZ that has been going on for quite some time. This is a great turnaround for the team after they were humbled 3-0 by MOUZ in the BetBoom Dacha Final earlier this year. After the early elimination in IEM Cologne 2024, it is always good to see Spirit come back and play the way their fans know they can, despite there being some areas that can still be worked on.
The series was an exchange of maps with both teams taking turns to win maps. But on the last map, Ancient, donk and his team appeared to be the favorite to win the match as they were leading 9-3 at the break. Not surprisingly, donk was the most effective player for Team Spirit, as he had 66 kills in total over the three maps. Sh1ro was second with 59 kills. Donk was not as active on Mirage, but he was a force to reckon with on Nuke and Ancient especially in the final match. If he maintains this kind of performance and guides Spirit to the championship, the young prodigy may be on the way to another MVP title.
