Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, a highly skilled and accomplished Valorant player, has officially joined Disguised (DSG) after a brief period with Cloud9.

Yay’s addition to the DSG roster brings a vast array of experience to the team’s already impressive lineup. He was a standout performer for OpTic Gaming in 2022, earning the title of the world’s best Valorant player for that year.
He played a vital role in OpTic’s success, helping them secure a championship win at Masters Reykjavik and top-three finishes at Masters Copenhagen and Valorant Champions 2022.
Yay will provide extra firepower to DSG as they compete in the upcoming Valorant NA Challengers split.
After a successful 2022 run, yay was signed by Cloud9 in anticipation of Riot Games’ new franchise league for the VCT 2023 season. Cloud9 decided to release yay after finishing 9th-16th at VCT LOCK//IN.
With VCT Americas roster spots filled before international leagues started, yay was left out of the competitive tier 1 Valorant scene.
A month after leaving Cloud9, Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, founder and manager of the tier 2 DSG Valorant team, tweeted an April Fool’s Day joke stating that he had signed El Diablo to his team.
Initially thought to be a prank, it was later confirmed that the tweet was genuine, and the Valorant superstar officially joined DSG about a week after the tweet was posted.
DSG Valorant roster:
- Joseph “clear” Allen
- Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar
- Joshua “steel” Nissan
- Damion “XXiF” Cook
- Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker
- Chris “riku” Piasecki (substitute)
- Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien (coach)
This roster move is a win-win for everyone involved. DSG gains a top-tier talent, significantly enhancing their chances of qualifying for the Ascension tournament at the end of the NA Challengers season.
Yay’s presence is also expected to create buzz and attract interest in the tier 2 scene.
Yay’s debut with DSG will be in the NA Challengers Split 2, taking place from April 18 to May 19.
