cynic Rejoins Nouns: A Comeback Story

In a surprising turn of events, David “cynic” Polster is back in the Nouns fold, donning the team’s jersey once more.

The 23-year-old had previously been a part of the Nouns roster for nine months but was replaced by Bobby “stamina” Eitrem after the IEM Dallas event. Now, in a twist of fate, cynic is returning to replace the very player who took his spot.

cynic was not just any player for Nouns; he was a foundational member of their original CS:GO squad.

Under his guidance, the team achieved significant success in online tournaments and secured spots in offline events, including the Americas RMRs for the IEM Rio Major and BLAST.tv Paris Major. While he previously juggled both AWP and in-game leadership roles, this time around, cynic will focus solely on handling the AWP, with leadership duties handed over to Carson “nosraC” O’Reilly.

During his initial stint with Nouns, cynic boasted an impressive average rating of 1.14 over 241 maps.

However, his performance saw a dip on LAN, with a rating of 1.00 over 21 maps and a career-low of 0.59 over three maps at IEM Dallas.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see cynic in action again. Nouns are set to face M80 in their opening match of the IEM Sydney North America closed qualifier on August 24th. This double-elimination bracket features four teams, all vying for a coveted spot at IEM Sydney.

The Revamped Nouns Roster:

  • Brendan “Bwills” Williams
  • Carson “nosraC” O’Reilly
  • Christopher “cJ” Jones
  • Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado
  • David “cynic” Polster
  • Coach: Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen
