CS2 Update Is Here: Weapon Charms, New Skins, and The Armory Feature

Valve has released a major new update for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) that includes weapon charms, three new weapon collections, and a new system called The Armory. This update also adds the Gallery Case, as well as some significant changes to how stickers are applied and scraped, making it a notable update for CS2 fans.

Weapon Charms in CS2

Among the new features of the update, it is worth highlighting weapon charms. These are cosmetic items that are attached to your gun and are usually preferred depending on the user’s preference. The charms come in two collections: Missing Link Charms and Small Arms Charms.

The Missing Link Charms include what Valve so endearingly refers to as ‘tiny sausage men’ – cute little fellows guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face. On the other hand, Small Arms Charms are based on different CS2 weapons, which allows players to add some extra fun to the stims.

New Skin Collections and the Gallery Case

Lovers of skins have a lot to cheer with this update. Overpass, Graphic, and Sport and Field skin collections bring 48 new weapon skins into the game. Further enhancing the fun is the new Gallery Case, which includes 17 designs contributed by the community, with the eye-popping M4A1-S Fade taking center stage.

However, while the Overpass Collection has been added, the Overpass map itself has not returned to the Active Duty map list. However, there are plenty of new skins for players to gather and flaunt, so it’s not a problem.

New Sticker Collections and Scraping Improvements

The update also brings two new sticker collections for those who enjoy setting up their weapons. However, the most significant improvement for sticker lovers is the redesigned sticker scraping mechanism. Now, players can see how a sticker will look when scraped before they commit to it, meaning they won’t regret their sticker choices (and waste money).

The Armory: A New Way to Earn and Unlock

The most revolutionary addition is The Armory. This is a new system where players can gain points through play and unlock items from the latest update. The Armory Pass is one of the purchases that players can make to start earning credits, which can be used to buy items in the game.

Notably, you can have up to five Armory Passes at once, meaning more credits and a faster level increase. Valve has effectively repurposed the battle pass model here, and there are multiple ways through which players can unlock rewards.
