Copenhagen Flames End Seven-Year Run after Filing for Bankruptcy

Danish esports organization Copenhagen Flames has announced that it has filed for bankruptcy and terminated all its personnel, ending its seven-year run.

Copenhagen Flames has been a significant talent pipeline for upcoming esports players, having produced renowned Danish players such as HooXi, jabbie, and TeSeS.

The organization’s decline in results, major appearances, and the recent economic challenges in the esports industry led to its demise.

The Flames join Tricked, another Danish talent pipeline, as the second organization to fold in as many weeks.

“Copenhagen Flames is no more. It has been an absolutely gut-wrenching, frustrating and deeply sad experience to let go of so many amazing people who have worked tirelessly for us, who are extremely passionate about the club and who would do anything to make things work,” Steffen Thomsen, CEO at Copenhagen Flames. “Iam immensely proud of what we achieved during these past 7 years without ever compromising our values, our mission or our conscience. We never looked for shortcuts or the quick buck. We have treated everyone with respect, honesty and transparency. That is what Copenhagen Flames was.”
